Application Performance Testing Framework

The Application Performance Testing Framework provides guidance on the impact on infrastructure over a range of scenarios (for example, if an application was rolled out to a new site). The Framework was designed to be used on a range of applications, to be scale-able and emulate real world users with the use of automation tools. My contributions included:

• Created a scale-able pool of test virtual machines that would eventually scale to 150 virtual machines.
• Established the set of performance metrics to monitor on the application’s servers in line with guidance from Microsoft.
• Performed capture of performance data on relevant server infrastructure and incorporated these into the final report
• Provided technical interpretation of the performance data in relation to Microsoft’s guidance on the performance metrics.
